SIEM REAP


From Siem Reap, you can access Angkor Wat easily. You can spend more time in Siem Reap to relax in the many cafes. The old French Quarter of Siem Reap, as well as the surroundings of the Old Market and Night Market offers a fun and relaxing opportunity to shop for souvenirs. You can stroll down the river at night and see the beautiful lights and bridges while you eat, get a massage, or visit Pub Street.

ANGKOR WAT

Angkor Wat is the largest temple in the world. It is unlike all other Khmer temples in that it faces west and is surrounded by a moat. It is amazing size and the intricate carvings all throughout the temple tell a story of ancient times. The way the light glows on the ancient stones makes sunrise and sunset the best time to wander through Angkor Wat's 2 square kilometres and climb its tower.  


ANGKOR THOM

The ancient walled city of Angkor Thom, literally the "Great City" was built in the 12th century by Jayavarman VII. In the sunrise, you can also visit Bayon, Bapuon, Phimeanakas, Elephant Terrace, and Ta Prohm. Bayon temple will thrill you with its more than 200 enormous mysterious smiling faces. It also contains the 300 meter-long Elephant terrace, where they used to hold ancient elephant fights, with its large sculptured royal elephants. Ta Prohm is a temple that has ancient trees growing into and on the temples.  Some of the trees have carved out religious sanctuaries.


PHNOM BAKHENG

Dominating the flat landscape, this 10th Century mountain temple is the most popular spot in the area to watch a classic sunset over Angkor Wat and the surrounding fest. It is one of the most beautiful views on the top of the Bakheng Mountain and a perfect place to take pictures of surrounding city area. 



KBAL SPEAN

The original “River of a Thousand Shiva Lingas”, Kbal Spean is and intricately carved riverbed deep in the foothills the Cambodian jungle. Lingas are phallic representations sacred to Hinduism as symbols of fertility, and hundreds of them are carved into the rock here, as are several carvings of Gods and animals above the small waterfall. Kbal Spean lies 50Km northeast of Siem Reap, 18km from Banteay Srei, on a dirt road.

BANTEAY SREY

This is the fabled pink temple of women, so called because it is made of pink sandstone and considered a tribute to the beauty of women. Its small size, delicate carving and remarkable state of preservation make Banteay Srei one of travellers’ favourite temples. It's Apsara and male and female divinities represent the most skilled craftsman ship of sandstone carvings. It is one of the oldest temples in the region, though it was not rediscovered until the 1900s.


ELEPHANT SANCTUARY

At the elephant sanctuary you get to take a trip into the jungle to visit the elephants and feed them. This sanctuary is animal friendly and they take care of the elephants. It is located near the Angkor Wat area and along with feeding, playing with, and enjoying your visit with the elephants you will get to take part in a tree protection blessing.



PHNOM KULEN WATERFALL

At Phnom Kulen you will travel up the mountain and be greeted at the top by one of the most magnificent waterfalls you will ever see. This is an area where you will not only see amazing natural scenery, but you can go swimming and play in the water at the bottom of the waterfall. You also will have the chance to get an amazing view of the surrounding area from some lookout points near what most local people call the "Reclining Buddha". The Reclining Buddha is carved out of the natural stone on top of the mountain and considered sacred to most of the local people. There are also many other statues and monuments around the giant Buddha. Near the waterfall, you can visit a riverbed which contains carvings of Brahmin Yonis and Lingas within the riverbed.

SILK FARM

The Angkor Silk Farm is about 20 minutes from Siem Reap. When you visit you will discover silk farming with specialized guides who will explain the process of the silk making. You will discover the various stages involved in silk production, from mulberry tree chards, to silkworm breeding, the spinning mill and the weaving process. You can also buy some of the silk they make by hand is 100% unique which will support the local artists.


TONLE SAP LAKE

The Tonle Sap Lake, commonly translated to as the "Great Lake", refers to a seasonally inundated freshwater lake. It connects to the Mekong River. Once a year the Tonle Sap Lake uniquely reverses flow which is a rare occurrence in any lake. There are many various water birds, fish, and many other types of biodiversity found at the lake. You can also take a variety of boat tours to floating villages, a bird sanctuary, and enjoy amazing natural landscape. The lake is an essential part of Cambodian life and when you visit Cambodia you will be inspired by its beauty and usefulness to the local people of Cambodia.
